Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola apologised to the club's fans, despite winning another trophy following an impressive 4-0 win over Valladolid.
Barca needed to win to seal a second successive Primera Division title, and the Catalans did not disappoint, crushing Javier Clemente's Valladolid side with an impressive display to seal their fourth title in six seasons with a record total of 99 points, four more than fierce rivals Real Madrid.
Guardiola led frenetic celebrations with his players on the Nou Camp pitch after the match, but the Barca coach still laments the one that got away - next weekend's Champions League final at Madrid's Bernabeu stadium.
"I want to say thank you to the fans," he said.
"You have been great and we owe you one - we should be in Madrid next weekend and we owe you one for that."
Amid the celebrations, Guardiola also took time to praise his players and outgoing club president Joan Laporta.
"These players are unrepeatable," he said.
"And I want to thank the president for these seven years."
Laporta, meanwhile, said he will leave the club with their best ever side.
"Barca is in the best moment ever," he said.
"The club is a model of reference - the effort, the hard work, the players, the coaches and the employees have done a magnificent job."
Barca have won an incredible 12 trophies in Laporta's seven years at the club, but the president believes success can continue in the future.
"Of course it can be repeated - this is the greatest Barca in history," he said.
Back on the pitch, the celebrations continued.
"To win another title like that is not easy, so thanks to everyone," Thierry Henry said.
For captain Carles Puyol, the title was just rewards for another fine season.
"We were the best," he said.
